Underwater pelletizing of ABS, SAN and ASA produces very good results for all variants and pellet sizes. ABS, SAN and ASA are easy to handle - no processing problems are to be expected. In micro-pelletizing ABS, SAN and ASA, pellet sizes of approx. 0.5 mm are currently possible. Advantages The advantage of underwater pelletizing in this field is the simple handling of these products in the pelletizing process. Another benefit of using Gala pelletizing systems for ABS and SAN is the containment of the typical odors and gases. Underwater pelletizing significantly reduces the service and maintenance costs since the product is cut in hot (i.e. soft) state. The costs of the blades are around 50 EUR for a throughput of 1,000 metric tons of product. The noise emission level can be minimized by selecting an appropriate dryer.
